I've always actually found Sonic to be a compelling character, because he is so under-developed. We have no idea how he became who he is, we have no idea what it is that really motivates him, all we know is that he shows up in the nick of time and saves the day. Sonic is a Gary-stu who cares? He's a cool character nobody has character development everybody is flat. Sonic is just the heroic archetype why is this so bad? Why why wai?! I mean honestly who.........the stories....THE STORIES! Sonic the Hedgehog's plot itself is supposed to be light hearted and fun who cares if Sonic is too much of something? He's the HERO!

- Sonic is too brave. Gary-Stues are impossible to identify with. One of the reasons why Sonic is so hard to identify with is because of his overdone courage and cockiness, and what's worse is that he never seems to pay for this. He always wins.

I am agreeing with this quote. Like I said, it's probably the most valid point about Sonic's Gary-Stuism....

It's just a thought that suddenly occured to me.

- Does Sonic have anything that he dislikes himself for? I have yet to notice if he does.

- Sonic has all these envy-able powers, and he can use them to beat a bad-guy single-handedly. People can get the impression that Sonic BARELY had to train to use these powers for good.
