Because it is mother's day, and because I felt this board needed some action, I decided to post my thoughts on the mothers in the Sonic comic. Feel free to
post yours.
Bernie(Sonic's Mother): From what I have seen of Bernie, I think Sonic has inherited much of her personality; a inner strength and bravery(to the point of being brash), as seen in the "Tales of the Great War" series. She probably was one of the first, if not the first, Mobians to confront Robotnik to his face. Although she has mellowed a bit because of her expierences and, like her husband, as a difficult time communicating with Sonic, one can tell she does love him.
Lara(Knux's Mother): I do think she is a good creature at heart. I have to tread carefully on this, so as not to break the relationship rule, but even though Locke has responsiblity for what happend between them, I think Lara made a mistake, which has hurt Knux in a bad way. No wonder he feels the way he does about certain things. I wonder like to see more interaction beweteen Lara and Knux, especially since Locke is gone.
Rosemary(Tails' Mother): Since she has came back, she has been a loving mother to Tails. She also has proved to be more outspoken and daring then I thought she could be, as shown during "House of Cards." I never would have taken her as someone who would speak out/write about potitics until that storyline.
Alica(Sally and Elias' Mother): She has turned out to be a complex creture, can be kind and loves her children, but makes mistakes. The way I see things, she shares blame for what happend to Sally in "Line of Sucession." Alica has come accross as somewhat arrongant(I am thinking of her "Let Robotnik keep that dirty city to himself" line). Not to sound too harsh, I think her attitude on that came from the fact that she may not have fully understood the full effect of what Robotnik has done and the threat. Also, I think alot of her attitude comes from being royal for so long. That way of life seems to be the only life she has really known, at least for a long time.
Finally, I have to say something about the Freedom Fighters foster mothers, Rosie and Julaya. I think they did a great job raising them under hard circumstances. It is because of them, that they have turn out as well as they did.
