Yes, yes, these are the type of things they need to keep in mind for this new series. If they can pull this off, Sonic as a franchise might be able to recover ever so slightly. Let's pray for the series to be as good as Transformers Animated.

Perhaps, but I'm more hopeful for the animated portion of the franchise than I am for the console portion.

Though all this hoping has come back to bite me a lot here recently.

In the US. Maybe.

Don't forget that Archie has comparatively no relevance outside the US and Canada (where it's actually licenced), and SatAM hasn't been seen for a long, long time (for example, fifteen years in terms of UK terrestrial TV, and only on one of the lesser digital channels). The series itself is now older than its target demographic. That's why, even without this being the post-SA era of the franchise, I've always been sceptical about how much momentum a revival could get.

This is true. Though, Sonic on a whole has almost always been more popular in the west than in Japan, hasn't he? I think I remember reading that somewhere.

LOL..its True Sonic is much more popular here in the Americas then he is in japan, heck i bet he's even more popular in europe then in japan..Kinda sad but i guess people over their care more about anime girls & giant robots then speedy blue hedgehogs LOL

but yea ive always considered Sonic one of the top 5 here in the U.S. although I'll admit lately he's been a better Comic & cartoon character then a Video game one.

They use CorelDRAW and Maya - the show deliberately looks like that because of its stop-motion origins, but they are actually capable of more impressive CGI and have done so (usually for humourous contrast). It's not Flash.

Yeah, but unlike SatAm he left most of the world unroboticised, so there's people for him to oppress and they get roboticised if they defy him (or can't pay tax on time).

I actually prefered this. Mobius is suddenly a planet with different people on it instead of just Knothole, the Great Forest and Robotropolis.

Well, I'm pretty sure Sonic and the freedom fighters would have been able to somehow stop Robotnik from doing that. Robotnik has attempted to destroy the great forest several times in SatAM.

How is it iggnorant? I said he was more popular in europe then in japan & well i guess he might be more popular there then in the U.S. as well. In all Honesty all things considered i'd say both are about even in popualrity. Anyway back on Topic If/When Animator X gets to the pitch I think He should Pitch it tou Either Nick Or Fox becuase those are two networks that are in need of some good toons (well in foxes case good toons appropriate for all ages.)(& ones that arn't 4kids LOL!) but Yea I could see a SATAM Revivel working on Nick since Avatars gone, Or Primetime on FOX heck i'd watch it even if..dare i say it it ended up on CN.

Sorry, but no matter how you slice it, your suggestion would mean that the SATAM revival would "replace" Avatar, a problem to which happened when Ben10 was snubbed by Teen Titan fans as the show that "replace" Teen Titans. Besides, I always figured that Nick was more focus on straightening their own produced shows?

As for FOX Prime time.

What show is going to give up their Prime time slot for a revival of a decade plus animated childrens series. House, BONES... Till Death? I think not.

CN I could see, because they are desperate for well, SOMETHING (Total Drama Island anyone)?

If SatAM were to ever be brought back I think it should stick to it's roots and go for channels like ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. Unless we're talking about a show that couldn't be a Saturday morning show.

ABC's Saturday lineup is Disney Channel's dumping grounds now, as far as I know. I don't remember there being anything on it that Disney Channel doesn't have, and more people probably have cable to watch DC. CBS, I don't even know if they have Saturday cartoons anymore... NBC I know just has things like Veggie Tales. 4Kids' Saturday blocks on FOX & CW... no way. They'd completely destroy it like they did Sonic X. Best place for the show would be on cable.

CBS, when it isn't showing news, is Nick, Jr. on Saturday mornings just as ABC is Disney only.

CBS, NBC, and ABC aren't really showing cartoons on Saturday mornings anymore. NBC stopped long before the other two did. It's just syndicated FOX & WB now on Saturday mornings or Sunday mornings depending where you live.

Well, there was that thing in Thailand or Malaysia (can't remember off-hand) where it had already burned through a few episodes before anyone in the western hemisphere even knew it existed outside of those scripts that were being auctioned on Yahoo! Japan. Several weeks later the show premiered on French television.

WB, or rather, CW is now 4KidsCW. So now they have two stations under their thumb. Interesting note: almost immediately upon their taking over children's programming for the station, several edits were noticed in episodes of Spectacular Spider-Man that were in rerun. Mostly time edits and bits from some of the more intense fight scenes.

Cartoon Network seems to be trying to establish their own Saturday morning lineup by airing premieres of a few shows, some of them from their Toonami block. Seems like a viable place if you want to steer clear of 4Kids.

The new SatAM shall be like SwatKats: The Radical Squadron.

Starting 1993,that show was before its time. For a Hanna-Barbera production it sported very anime-esque character designs ,for the females at least, that you'll see just about anybody using for a cat anthro person on DeviantArt.com. And a very mature back drop. It was almost like Batman but with furries. It got canceled for being too violent eventhough the show was like...aimed at the older age group anyway...*shrugs* It really wasn't bad. It was just grungy.

should the new SatAM be grungy? MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm....

Your Right DB swat cats was revolutionary, one of the few great gritty shows of the 90's, but i don't think sonic would work like that, star fox mabye, but not sonic, Frankly I hope the animation style is either Traditional U.S. cartoon style like SATAM or AOSTH or Psudo-anime style LIKE TF: Animated or TT. But Yea eithr way i bet it would be good. (Man is it just me or is this thread running out of things to talk about, hmm we could do VA's again, or mabye argue over somthing compleatly random?)
