Let's see...
Knuckles lasted 32 issues...which was a spin off of Sonic's most popular rival (at the time)
Sonic X lasted 40 issues...which was a spin off based on a TV show.
Sonic the Hedgehog was based of the SATAM show and early video games and is STILL going strong (1-195 onward).
Maybe it just goes to show that any spin offs from the main sonic comic don't last as long as the original? Granted there has been been only two so far as the Sally and Tails miniseries never took off.
I wonder why Sonic X was retired at 40. Considering that this issue 40 brakes any and all rules regarding the series up to this point, I wonder if Sega
realized that the "stuck storyline" was a bad idea. But it doesn't seem to make sense as the show Sonic X is still airing? Why cancel a comic
series if the show it's based on is still being broadcast? There is only two things I can see of this 1) It wasn't doing too good. or 2) Sega wants to
try something different.
If everything was going fine, and the show is still on the air...why cancel it?
