Not to mention McCain's ability to control that was incredible imo. And personally, I don't give two craps about either side making America look better in other nations eyes. Other countries complain about us, but guess what, we have more people flocking here than any other place in the world, we probably give out more aid than any other country in this world, and we spend more money on people we don't even know than our own people, so we are far from arrogant asshole America. We're jerks until someone else needs something. And then more money is spent getting food to other people than we do our own starving Americans. Someone needs to address this in office, PC or not. Part of our issue is not just the war, but the money shipped overseas as a whole. As for the assassination attempts, notice the bullet proof glass on the side of the front of the stage for Obama last night?

I'll just copy from my other location for things of this nature.
I saw history made last night. I saw a nation previously afraid of it's own shadow fight back. I saw young people like myself hit their breaking point. I saw a generation of american's that had learned nothing but intolerance, bigotry, and fear from their elders stand and say "I will not fear change. I will not fear those different than me." Last night, I saw decades of media and governmental fearmongering and scare tactics melt away as for the first time since I've been alive my generation did not wane, halt, or falter in pursuit of what we know is right. Last night I saw man of non-caucasian and mixed religious background elected President of this nation. Last night I saw Barack Obama become the 44th president of the United States of America.

It's always very awkward to be the center of attention.
Sega 02: "SONIC TEAM. The Sonic Team development studio was established to execute the wishes of Sega." Sega 03: "It was intended to enact the business strategy we had created." Sega 05: "However, it appears to have become dominated by a single, zealous individual." Sega 04: "Yes it has. We must take it back into our own dominion." Sega 01: "It is time. We must restore SONIC TEAM and the Sonic series to their proper role." |

Wait, women will be able to continue to control their own reproductive choices? I might have a slight chance in hell of being able to be proud of my
sexuality? The war might end? This nation's youth might have healthcare? White, upper class men won't be the only ones dictating my choices for another
four years? Global warming might exist and we might work toward goals more like the Kyoto protocol? The rest of the world might see that there are millions of
Americans who disagree with the foreign policy of this state? Those of us who aren't the typified demographic for presidency can have hope that our
children might be next in line for leadership?

Ditto @ SA.
I have alot to say, but I was a complete emotional wreck last night. I'm mad at my grandmother right now, but I respect her for voting Obama because he was black. (Total different mindset and I had to completely sit down and readjust my mind to understand why) I woke up at 5 am on a park bench on 123rd n 5th avenue (Marcus Garvey Park) after the rally was over Im just getting home after a CONTINUED celebration Harlem is celebrating til 11/11 about this historic achievement, this place is alive like no ones buisness...and yeah Im done. Good game McCain, thank you for appeasing those crass fools in your crows, Palin needs to die (I'm not taking that back. I absolutely hate how she just tried to take the role of average american soccor mom-and twist it into this evil succubus of horror and incompetence) and Obama is the frickin man-that CCCCOMBO Breaker Photo is Damned funny, I want that poster sized..N i'll post a more concise synopsis on what I'm feeling later. Good night everyone. ::Dies:: ![]() Hee hee hee |

I'm actually one of those independent types and just unable to vote for either cuz' I'm terrible at decisions of this high caliber. I just came to
add that I give all my good luck to Obama. Let's see how these four years will go...

Finally the election can stop hogging the news =D
Seriously though, I'm glad Obama got in, but I'm another of the cynical barstools who with his mates sat in the pub and said "how long till he's assasinated then?" Yeah, we don't have much faith in people. |

Thats not being cynical, Crimmy. It's being realistic. Keeping him alive for 4 years is going to be an achievement of monolithic proportions. Black guys
don't seem to survive long when they get in America's political spotlight.
I AM a little peeved the election overshadowed the first use of a hologram on television. ~Tobe ![]() |

I'd be more peeved that the idiots decided to use the hologram on the election day. There are 4 entire years worth of "not election day" where
that hologram could be made news.

Hm?
*research!* Ah, I see, It wasn't "fake" but it wasn't a true hologram. It was done with about 35 HD camera's and green screen effect. But in finding THAT out I happened on several true telepresence demonstrations Cisco has done and explained. It's not a hologram. It's a live projection of the person onto a screen. CNN faked people out by using the 35 camera's to project whatsherface at 35 different angles for the TV audience. Neat trick, but more Jurassic Park than Star Wars. ~Tobe ![]() |
