I wonder if people will skip over my posts without really reading them because I lack an avatar

Only because the higher inspector is allowing a couple of things here and there go unnoticed. Shop should be closed in mine eyes.

Sometimes I feel like the only person who hates both coffee and tea. Love the smell of coffee, hate the taste.
And when I'm old enough that I can hardly move on my own, you can bet I'll be spending my free time spamming message boards with awesome wisdom like this guy. A true inspiration for the children! |

I'm not fond of coffee. Tea with lemon and lots of sugar work for me.
... I think that's why my brain crashes all the time. |

Coffee by itself is not great to my tastes. I have to use the creamer or milk and sugar to get rid of some of the strong taste. But i'd rather have a hot
chocolate instead. :/

I like both coffee and tea, though I usually perfer tea. Any type of tea will do, I've yet to try a tea I didn't like, though I'd have to say
spiced chai would be my favorite that I've had.

So, today I am experimenting with French Vanilla Supreme coffee.
It is supremely WEAK. Took like 6 scoops to get an ounce of flavor out of it. Dang French coffee. |

i have discovered the joys of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows in it.
wierdly enough the bag has instructions to eat the marshmallows only one at a time as they're a choking hazard. oO; but.. but.. how can you play chubby bunnies if you can't fill your mouth with the entire bag? ;--; |

Coffee can be sort of a catch-22; you use it to keep yourself awake, but the more of it you have, the more likely you are to need it to keep yourself awake, and so on. I remember last semester I needed 3 or 4 cups of it a day just to not fall asleep in class. In hindsight that wouldn't have made much of a difference seeing as how I often didn't understand what the profs were saying, but I noticed that by the end of the semester when I was trying to go cold turkey on it, I found myself always half-sleepy and my voice sounded unusually soft. Coffee can taste good, (provided it's mixed with enough milk and sweetener) and when used once in a while I guess it could help with alertness when you need it more than usual, but it's not something to rely on. |

I'm more of a tea man myself. I usually have at least one cup of it a day. I'd drink it over coffee anyday.

Actually, Matt. The "need for coffee" after over-consumption is a psychological placebo affect. Typically the stimulating kick of coffee dulls as the
body becomes used to it. Fortunately the psychological connection that "coffee = awake" has been firmly rooted by this time. And don't worry,
knowing about it wont change your mental association or caffeine addiction.
Also it has been linked with aiding the body against heart disease. So yay that. |

It has also been linked with draining $12 a week from our bank account. Coffee addiction is serious business >8(
Coffee was not a choice at camp. It was a requirement. Believe it or not, it is freaking cold at 6:30AM on summer mornings. So when you're walking huge carafes of coffee to a campsite halfway across the grounds wearing your uniform of t-shirt and shorts (maybe a sweatshirt if you prepared), only to watch the leaders warm themselves up with their vile black liquid while you're sitting there shivering trying to make conversation between chattering teeth..... ...sometimes you've just gotta take that plunge. Sometimes you have to suck it up and dilute that vile liquid until it's actually a drinkable substance. Or else you will DIE. I prefer hot chocolate, personally ^^ ~Shadowed Spirit Sage |

Heeey. Hey. Heeeey.
It's not MY fault that I have gourmet coffee tastes and the rest of the house realized how awesome coffee is when you actually shell out a bit of money. Plus I'm fairly sure that the housemates who drink it will be splitting the cost or putting it on our grocery bill. Plus, you should try it. It's really good stuff. Camp coffee is nothing compared to Kitty's creme de la creme. |

Aye. I can back up that good coffee costs more money...but it's well worth it. It's really the same with pretty much any consumable product though.
However, I am in the camp that drinks tea more often than coffee.

Craig Bayfield wrote:Hmm? Placebo as in drinking decaf thinking it's regular coffee would have the same effect? So would that be a way of easing off the addiction if I let that happen again? And Sage, I wouldn't consider $12 a week very much. I recall coffee costing about $2 a cup at coffee shops... so even if at an average of 3 a day that'd be $6 a day, and so $42 a week at least for me. o.o |
