It pretty much adds back bone to all the skeptics of Sonic Team.

Pull up a chair, grab a daquiri (non-alcoholic of course) and chill next to the old airplane for a while. ^_^ This is the spot for the gamers to come in and chat on the ORIGINAL Sonic. It's not just SegaSonic on discussion here, but Sonic's anime incarnations(Sonic X, the Movie/OVA, etc.) and general Sonic Team - Yuji Naka, Naoto Oshima, Phantasy Star Online, NiGHTS Into Dreams, and Samba! Forgive me if this has already been talked about but this is pretty spooky http://www.tssznews.com/2...-doesnt-want-you-to-read/
It pretty much adds back bone to all the skeptics of Sonic Team. |

I thought this blog was posted months or a year ago here, or am I thinking of the GHZ? Oh well, the blog just vindicates my suspisions of Sonic Team since they greenlighted Shadow the Hedgehog. |

Um. Change the people. They're empty.

I think the answer lies in something the blog says about the team just being tired of making sonic games. Which I find completely understandable.

Sonic Unleashed was made by a new team however, right?

Where did this "new team fresh out of college" news came from? The same source that said that there were some people from Sega of America/Europe was involved in the creation of Unleashed also? From what I read Unleashed has the same people who made Sonic 2K6 with a new producer who was previously involved in the Chao systems in the Adventure games. |

lol the chao system to sonic unleshed? Thats a big jump in responsibility.

Again this is Sammy that did this IMO. Sonic Heroes is an alpha version of what would have been the last Sega Sonic game.
This makes the existence of Shadow the Hedgehog even funnier because it is what it sounds like, a self-parody of an idea some idiotic executive demanded. |

Veckums wrote: Didn't someone also post a thread from another MB here that was a tell-all from another Sega employee who was a game tester who now works at LucasArts? I recall saying that many of the employees hated working on Shadow the Hedgehog and how Sega ignored many of the complaints from game testers. It's almost as if the Sonic series is relegated as money-making shovelware along with the movie-based games at Sega. I remember that some head at Sega
don't considered Sonic as their mascot anymore. Wouldn't be surprised if its main purpose other than to keep Sega afloat, is to fund projects like
Valkryia Chronicles(though I guess to some people they don't really think that's neccessarily a bad thing).

No, I'm pretty sure that WAS The GHZ. One Classy Bloke, remember? I'm pretty sure he shared a few horror stories of Sega's ineptitude.

I think the Sega of today is still one that is willing to take risks, at least much more recently than in years past. They're publishing Platinum
Game's Bayonetta and Mad World, right? And there's also The Conduit... releasing an FPS on a console not entirely
known for the genre doesn't seem like a sure-thing money-maker, to me.

^Sega in general seems to be doing a bit better than they were 5 years ago. It's just the reputation the Sonic franchise has built for itself over the last
8 years that's making the rest of the company look bad in the eyes of many people invested in the gaming culture.

Shadow Hog wrote: Yeah, that's where I heard it before, and it isn't remotely surprising. I guess they thought that everybody would buy it anyway, so why spend more to respond to testers' complaints? It was probably the money they lost with SonicNext that led to Sonic Unleashed at least not being horrible. Interesting that the tester blogged about the werehog but not 2.5D, which may have been decided after. |

http://www.tssznews.com/2...oyee-speaks-out-on-sonic/ Possibly less
credible but this supppoooossedly another employee.... right they are sure to have been assasinated by now o_o
But in the back of my mind the doubt levels range kinda high that this person is in any way close with the inner workings of Sega. Oh well. It makes for nice controversy. EDIT: I THINK HE'S A LYING BASTARD. I WANT MY CHAO BACK DANGIT! *shakes fists!!!*

But none of them actually admit that this is bonified truth. They're just reporting gossip really.
