Well, make that a triple whammy. Ed McMahon, sidekick to Johnny
Carson and spokesman for Publishers Clearings House, died 2 days ago as well. Three stars dead in one week, and two of them on the same day; wow!

Normally, I don't like to bad mouth the recently dead, but Ed McMahon is the only one of those three worth mourning.

Only one of the three dead "stars" mentioned in this thread didn't require a google search, guess which one...

I can't believe some of you haven't even heard of Ed McMahon. Am I that old or did I just watch TV Land and Nick at Nite too many times as a kid?

The only one of those I've heard of at all was Michael Jackson.
D: Quite shocked. 50 is still fairly early D: And his music was ace, even if he was a bit wierd... |

shocked more that he died kind of early but that thing becomes less and less shocking. Death not taking a holiday. |

Yea...today was ridiculous! Like goodness gracious! And Ed Mcmahon...now I;ve watched my fair share of I Love Lucy, Mary Tyler Moore and Happy Days on Nick at
Nite...but I can't say that name stands out. Surely if I saw him or heard him I could probably remember. Sad news, sad news.

I hate to speak ill of the dead, but out of the three, the only ones I care about about are Fawcett and McMahon. My sympathies go to all three families, but I
can't say I'm upset about Michael Jackson. I mean, I loved his earlier music, but I can't help disassociating that Michael Jackson with the
current one. As far as I'm concerned, they're not the same person.

I heard about the abrupt death of Michael Jackson several hours ago while I was still in my bed. My mum told me that Michael Jackson had died and at first I
thought she was just messing with me (even though she doesn't usually mess around with me like that). I was (and still am) shocked by this news yet not
surprised by it..... if you know what I mean.

Yeah, this is super suckage. I heard about Fawcett this morning while getting ready to take the wife to work, (that she was on her deathbed and was given her
last rights), and then she calls me saying some customer said Jackson was dead, and then as I pick her up, she tells me McMahon died two days ago. Jesus
McChrist.
Fawcett... honestly, I don't care. It sucks. Best to the family. McMahon... mannnnnnnnnnn, really? No more silly laughter nor handing out the million dollar checks to peoples doorsteps? And MJ... oh MJ. I'm so torn on how to feel about this one. It's MJ, and a huge part of my life, hell, my generation's life. Huge influence in music, and more or less shaped pop music to get to where it is now. But this MJ that died is not the MJ I knew and love. MJ died mid nineties... about after Black & White, and the last good thing he did was HIStory. Anything after that... yeah, no. Personally, I'm a little happy he finally passed. It's an end to his final, sad, sad chapter of his life. No more pain in his heart, no more "wacko Jacko" stories to endure. Just peace. RIP, good buddy. *plays Stranger in Moscow, probably the last good song he ever did, and no, not because of the ties to Sonic 3* [Oh, and Rish, seriously, the ENTER key, dude, THE ENTER KEY... PARAGRAPHS! I've seen you do it before!!! Here's a hint, you typing stuff out like that makes everyone SKIP YOUR POST AND NOT READ WHAT YOU SAID. Seriously, dude. Get with it] |
