The Mobius Forum World is a planet in a dimensional plane similar to our own. Located at a convenient nexus between parallel universes, the Mobius Forum World is a place full of adventure and wackiness. The capital city of the planet is Sega City, a beautiful place where the urban environment is tempered with crisscrossing rivers and lush parks. Here people from worlds across the Multiverse co-exist peacefully...most of the time.
Conflict is not new to the Mobius Forum World; it is almost the norm for some villainous foe to rise up and attempt to take over Sega City for their own twisted purposes. But heroes always rise to the challenge and restore peace to Sega City. The world itself maintains this balance through the power of the Figment Keys, the power objects that make the world through the imagination of those who live in it.
Today is a day like most; a peaceful, yet exciting day in the city. But what is normal becomes extraordinary through a simple twist in time that leads to one of the most ferocious battles for the freedom of the world since it first began.
--------
Springtime dawn broke out over Sega City, the sun gleaming in the mirrored skyscraper windows. But the sun had not beaten anyone up; the city was already alive with the activity of those who rose before the end of night. And included in this category was Justin Hobbes, who was in the middle of his daily jogging regimen as he moved down the street in his green sweats. The morning air was clean and pure, and already warming up from the sun's rays. He passed by planted trees in bloom, an array of colored flowers budding on their leafy branches.
It didn't take long for Justin to reach his destination: the corner of Central Square Park, where an anthropomorphic poodle wearing a red-and-white striped shirt just finished setting up a hot dog stand, his shirt matching the umbrella set up over the meat-cooking mobile cart. "Right on time, as usual," chuckled the poodle in a light Brooklyn accent as he leaned on the cart with one arm and tipped his red fez to Justin. "So what'll it be today, Justin?"
The expectant human licked his lips in anticipation of his mid-jog morning meal. "I think I'm finally ready to give that spicy relish chili a try, Frank."
Frank slipped on some gloves and pulled a bun from the warming compartment in the cart, then took a pair of metal tongs and used them to procure a large, juicy hot dog. He laid it carefully into the bun, and took a red jar and a spoon and layered the dog with a zesty combination of diced pickles and red peppers. "If you didn't wake up yet, this'll do the trick!"
Justin brushed back his brown bangs and reached for the offered hot dog with one hand while handing over a few rings with the other. The soft bun gave under the pressure of his fingers as he brought the succulent-smelling meat to his opening mouth, and he bit into the hot dog.
Then the world shattered.
Everything around Justin flip-flopped colors, as if it had become a negative photograph. The blue sky turned a murky brown, the few fluffy clouds became forebodingly gray, and the grass in the park nearby was lavender, with the trees displaying ice blue leaves in their yellow branches. Frank looked shocked and tried to yelp, his shirt and the cart umbrella matching colors of alternating teal and black. But the sound coming out of his mouth came out backwards, and Justin wondered if his mind had snapped. He couldn't even taste the hot dog because all his taste buds told him was "purple." Which didn't make any sense, but that was what he tasted. Purple. It filled his vision, his lungs, his mind...
Everything was purple.
And then everything went into rewind, the purple fading back to the reversed colors and then back to normal. Justin withdrew the hot dog from his mouth and handed it back to Frank, who magically pulled the relish off the hot dog and back into the jar before meticulously replacing everything in the cart. Justin felt himself thinking and jogging backward, yet something in his mind told him this was wrong, things didn't go backwards like-
It didn't take long for Justin to reach his destination: the corner of Central Square Park, where an anthropomorphic poodle wearing a red-and-white striped shirt just finished setting up a hot dog stand, his shirt matching the umbrella set up over the meat-cooking mobile cart. The expectant human licked his lips in anticipation of his mid-jog morning meal. But something in his mind nagged at him as he said, "I'll just have my usual, Frank."
"You sure you don't want to try the spicy relish? If you aren't awake yet, it'll do the trick!"
Justin blinked. "But I already tried the-" And he caught himself. HAD he tried the relish? Why was he getting a sense of deja vu? Then he shrugged; he didn't have the answers to everything. "Maybe tomorrow, Frank."
Frank prepared a hot dog with mustard and ketchup. "You've said that every day for the last month!"
Justin took the hot dog and handed Frank a few rings. "Guess we'll see what tomorrow brings. See you later."
And so Justin jogged off with his hot dog, wondering why things seemed different all the way back to his apartment.

At a local construction site, the workers arrived and began complaining at once - the work they had done over the past few days was completely gone, as if it had never been done. The foreman and the project manager went over the details again and again, but the blueprints indicated that the work should have been done. But since it hadn't, it had to be done all over again.
Companies around the city had minor data crashes when trying to pull up data from the past week. These crashes often involved flashing screens with the letter "K" on them.
Lawrence Cartleby found his car keys that had been lost for nearly three days. They were on the counter right where he remembered putting them, even though he could have sworn they weren't there before.
In short, the entire world underwent a space/time shift that turned back time for a few days. Though the date was the same as before the shift, work that had been completed during that time period had vanished or suffered from heavy glitches or mistakes. Fortunately, nothing of true value was destroyed or lost during the process, and though the next few hours were vexing for some, life would return back to normal shortly. Sure, the very foundation of reality had been shaken for a moment, but then it was back to things as usual.
Or was it?

Deep in space, an entire fleet of starships appeared in a flash and floated with deceptive passivity. Their icy surfaces gleamed white and blue, each ship sharp and angular. Gun ports glowed frosty blue as white running lights blinked along the large ships.
Aboard the flagship, on the command deck, all of the lights were dimmed, swathing the lone figure in darkness as she sat in her wombcouch. Gelatinous substances swirled slowly around her as they communicated readouts directly to her mind at computer speeds, letting her stay in command of the entire fleet simultaneously. Nothing any ship did escaped her notice; she was queen of the fleet, and it was hers.
The long-range sensors of the fleet detected a planet appearing where there had been none before. This was peculiar, but she had seen many strange things during the fleet's travels, and she did not register surprise. Emotion was a thing foreign to her, something hotbloods did that didn't matter. The newly-appeared planet may have been using a stealth field that, for whatever reason, had been just shut down. Whatever the case, it was now the nearest planet to the fleet, and that meant it was their next target.
"This is Archon Permafrost to all ships in the Frozen Fleet," she announced. "We are heading to the newly-detected planet immediately. Scans indicate hotblood population presence; we will be facing action. Deploy icesteroids to establish beachheads on the planet, and began cryogenesis procedures when all icesteroids have landed. General Heartcease will lead the ground forces. Let us claim another world for the Frizonian Empire."
She ended the announcement; her troops knew what to do. She watched the icesteroids launched, shining like comets as they headed toward that distant planet. The Frozen Fleet engaged their cold fusion engines, a technology only possible to a race that lived at subzero temperatures, and they followed the icy trail that the icesteroids blazed.

"This is Yours Truly, on the scene with Big News Channel 3!" beamed the ever-cheerful pink-furred vixen news reporter as she stood in front of a crater that laid in the middle of an apartment complex in the Residential District of Sega City. Steam poured from the crater as curious bystanders got closer, and police were just barely arriving on the scene. The remaining buildings formed a perimeter around the wide crater, tall apartment buildings that were shoddily maintained. The cement pathway between the buildings was cracked, and much of the grass had scorched from the initial impact.
"Just a few minutes ago, a giant comet entered the atmosphere and crashed right into the middle of Wally Weasel's Cape Condo Complex! Astrologists are stunned that the comet not only survived entry into the atmosphere, but that they weren't able to see it on its approach until it was already coming down from the sky. Though nobody was living in the condos at the time due to them being shut down by the Sega City Department of Health for excessive infestations of newbie eaters, the damage is still incredible. And there's white smoke everywhere, so it may be hard to-"
"Steam."
"Excuse me?" Miss Truly blinked blankly at one of the bystanders, a mole with rolled up sleeves and a visor cap on his head.
"It's steam, not white smoke," pointed out the mole. "I'm an engineer, I know these things."
"Okay, whatever you say." Miss Truly turned back to the camera with a winning smile. "And we'll be right back after these-"
Beams of pure white energy crackling with blue sparks lanced out from the steamy crater, and bystanders struck by the beams were encapsulated in thick, translucent ice. The police stood their ground as the rest of the civilians scattered, and Miss Truly and her camera man hid behind a police car as they watched the carnage unfold. "We are under attack! Something in the crater is attacking us! Wait, something is coming out of the white smoke!"
"Steam!" cried the mole with clenched fists upraised, and he froze in that position as another beam zapped him, the cracking of rapidly-forming ice piercing the air.
Humanoid figures stepped out of the steam, leveling strange guns tipped with pointed icy crystals that fired frosty beams. They wore bulky-looking space suits with white armor and reflective bubble visors, and their entire color scheme was white and blue. One of the alien troopers, with black-marked shoulders, called out above the noise of energy rays and police gunfire. His voice was warbly and cold, like warping ice. "Continue shock troop operations," he said coolly. "Show the hotbloods the folly of fighting against the Frizonian Empire. Thus says Hoplite Icepick!"
More of the soldiers poured out of the crater, and the police were overrun by the tall, gangly creatures with their strange snowsuits and freeze rayguns. "Administrator Vector, this is Sergeant Prickle with an SOS!" shouted a gray-quilled echidna as he fired his police-issue handgun while dashing, using a headset communicator. "Aliens are using freeze rays! We need backup! We need backup!"

This is the beginning of...
OOC: Okay, for those of you joining, welcome to the new Group Mission! I'll repeat here the rules I covered in the other thread as well as clarify some things:
- Please start with only one character to begin with; you may add more, if you like, after a certain point in the GM. At that same point would be a good time to drop if you feel unable to keep up with the GM or otherwise have circumstances that prevent you from continuing in it.
- Keep power levels at approximately "superhero." This level allows for super powers, but godmodding/powerplaying or extremely high-powered characters will not be allowed.
- You do not have to have a character with powers, but be aware that there will be combat in this RP with an organized, trained enemy force. There will be other opportunities for roleplaying beyond combat, however, so make sure your characters have personalities whether they have powers or not.
- I will be running this GM. Please bring any concerns, whether with other players or with the plot, to me, and I'll help. I will also be steering the plot at times. I may add new rules later if required; but my most important goal will be to help everyone have a fun time with this story.
- Remember, the story comes first! Have fun.
You may now begin posting!
