Its alright, but I've seen better from them, hence the 7/10 rating. Train of Thought is the most "Metal" of their albums, so its probably why its my favorite by them.

However, I've only given it a couple of spins, I'm sure this album will grow on me a bit more as time goes on (I'm that kind of person), but I'm glad to see someone else who knows about DT.

Now, just need the next Iron Maiden album to be freaking epic beyond belief... though their last one was pretty sweet >>

I find it shameful they tend to get a lot of internet hate (Several forums I go to consider it crap ) But still, I like DT. Not in my top 5 bands, but they still get a decent amount of listening.

Well, yeah, they do go on a bit with some guitar wankery, but I kinda like it, most bands that do that make their music terrible, but they seem to be able to pull if off.

And about IM, you can pretty much find any song you want on youtube, but if you ever get the cash, albums you should get by them in following order (I'm assuming you'll like their more prog stuff more than anything)

Seventh Son of a Seventh Son - OH MY GOD. Its a perfect 10/10 album, their only concept album (Though BNW and AMoLaD are borderline concept albums...) and fairly proggy (Still more metal than anything but you'll definately feel the prog in it), and well... ITS JUST ****ING PERFECT.

Powerslave - Not all that proggy, more straight 80's Heavy Metal type album, but for what it does, its also a 10/10, with a perfect blend of power, emotion and magic (The various songs are about the Battle of Britain, The Cold War with references to the doomsday clock, Fighting Dragons and Swordplay, Corrupt Egyption Pharoahs who stand as an allegory for the music industry, and a metal adaption of a certain poem called "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner", maybe you've heard of it =P) all done in a single album.

Brave New World - Their 2000 comeback album (Their singer and guitarist rejoined the band after they both left several years ago, and as a result, led to some less than stellar 90's albums...) features an excellent blend of fast paced aggressive rocker type songs and more progressive, intellectual material (The album is based off the book by Huxely, and so is the title track and several others make references to the book itself), and showcases that just because they are old, doesn't mean that they can't make music. My favorite Maiden album by far, it perfectly illistrates their old school headbanging metal style they did in the 80's going alongside more progressive material, showcasing they can do both, and do them well, also a 10/10.
Also, "Blood Brothers" solo late in the song is so ****ing beautiful, it makes me tear up every time I listen to it.

Dance of Death - Not a perfect album, but still great, a 9/10 imo, coming out just after BNW in 2003, is a bit more proggy than BNW (But that's mostly due to them getting older, its expected), its just one song on there that keeps this from being a 10/10 album (New Frontier... ). Also has THE MOST FREAKING EPIC WAR SONG EVER. Paschendale, YOU MUST ****ING HEAR IT. Seriously, the 8 minute epic about the battle of WWI that is like, iirc, the bloodiest battle ever I think. Its just all too powerful.

A Matter of Life and Death - Their most recent album (That is, until their next expected one comes out, which is set to be early next year or something...) back in 2006, is a grower album. You're not gonna like it the first time you hear it, I didn't either. Now, this album is in my top 5 albums by Maiden when it was at the bottom before. Every song is about war or religon in some form, and feels rather depressing, but that is to represent the overarching theme that war is simply put, the worst creation that mankind has ever come up with. Also, "The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg" is easily the best song, you have to hear it. YOUTUBE. NAO.

The Number of the Beast - The album that got a lot of media attention for its suggestive cover (It had their mascot eddie controlling Satan by puppet strings :P), but the album doesn't support Satanism unlike some stuck up right wing christians will have you believe (The title track is about a terrible nightmare dealing with someone dreaming about satanism). Also, it features what I can only describe as the metal version of "Stairway to Heaven" or "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Yes, its that ****ing epic), "Hallowed Be Thy Name", which in my opinion, IS THE BEST SONG EVER ****ING MADE! Its not a 10/10 though, despite having the greatest song on the planet, for there contains a bit of filler contents (A few songs I don't really care for that much), but other than that, get it. You won't regret it!!!
