Came back a little more than an hour ago. Turned out the TV my brother was after (a 32" Sony Bravia) was at the nearby Wal-Mart, so we went there first. Must've been 4:00 A.M. when we arrived. I was completely unaware that Wal-Mart would be wide open at that hour, we just strolled right in. I was expecting a huge gathering at each of the entrances... then we found out why. The lines were INSIDE, instead of out. Already there were lines snaking every which way, one for each Black Friday special. The IPod line was whack, it went in and around the shoe department.

Fortunately, the Sony Bravia line was only two customers deep when we stumbled on it. We were 3rd in line. The staff let us know where the line was to be formed and gave us a claim ticket. Then came the waiting. Nothing was to be sold until the clocks hit 5 A.M. As we waited people continued to stream into the store. Nearby, one of the clerks had to tell a mother and her two boys that all the PS3's on sale were already spoken for. Feels bad, man. :(

And then, somewhere around 4:55 A.M. someone started barking like a dog (that's what it sounded like!) and people went nuts. The impenetrable wall of 50" LCD TV's (forget the brand) that was stacked somewhere out in front of us and down the middle of one of the store's main aisles... competely torn down in less than 10 seconds. People were rushing all over the place. Fortunately, no such commotion in our line... the staff were on hand to place the Sony Bravia in our cart and we whooshed ahead into the nearest checkout line and a waiting cashier. After some technicalities (it still wasn't 5 A.M. and the register's weren't allowing any sales to go ahead until it was), we left the store with his new TV.

All in all, a pretty good experience. I was expecting chaos, and got reasonable mayhem. ^^

We quickly stopped at the nearby Best Buy to see if we could still snag a copy of L4D2, but no such luck. Oh well!
